Small Creations

Zambian Stone Ring

While living in Zambia, I found a few amethysts and garnets. Using some old copper pipe, I soldered this ring together in my mud hut with lead from old fishing weights.

Poseidon's Ring

Drawing inspiration from my deep connection with the ocean, I made this ring utilizing a sea urchin shell, and a genuine 12mm pearl. I crafted this ring using electrochemical deposition. Like many of my electrochemical creations found below, I made the plating solution out of recycled copper (sewer) pipe.

Veiled Chameleon Ring

Meet Alfonso, my friend's deceased pet chameleon. His skull is now reinforced with copper at size 9.5.

Three-Horned Chameleon Pendant

After stumbling across this dead chameleon, I crammed its stinky carcass into my backpack and made it sparkle.

Oregon White Oak Pendant

Sourced from an ancient tree bordering a trail that my NYC crew constructed in my hometown, I made this pendant in preparation for a grand adventure off in the Peace Corps. It serves to remind me home.

Disco Ball Helmet

Inspired by my confusion of the term "retro-reflective gear", I painstakingly cut and glued hundreds of mirror squares to this DOT-approved helmet.

Monstera Pendant

A stately 4-inch Monstera adansonii leaf pendant created using electrochemical deposition.

Rhaphidophora Pendant

Using the same process as above, I created a Rhaphidophora tetrasperma piece.

Malachite Copper Pendant

I cut and polished this stone from a chunk of Zambian botryoidal malachite. Being a copper-based mineral, I decided to mount it on a piece of hammered copper sewer pipe.

Raw Emerald Ring

This ring holds three uncut Colombian emeralds that I acquired while in Bogotá, and is finished with a 1/10mm 24 karat exterior gold plating.

Silver Ring

To make this ring, I altered a damaged baby spoon from the 19th century. I wear this on the daily, as it is adjustable and is not likely to cause avulsion.

Canadian Penny Ring

This ring is comprised of the outer rim of a Canadian penny made in the late 19th Century.

Kyanite Pendant

Using gold-plated electrical wiring and silver solder, I wrapped this piece of peacock kyanite into a pendant.

Outdoor Sink

I built this sink for my friend Jill, so she can wash her produce before leaving the garden. Curiously, it is constructed using reclaimed lumber donated by an Arabian horse farm owned by Jeff Bezos.

Hammered Copper Bangle

Using a piece of recycled copper sewer pipe, I painstakingly hammered this bangle by hand.

.410 Shotgun Shell Earrings

Despite their large personality, these earrings only weight a couple of grams.

Ginkgo Pendant

Once thought to be extinct, this Ginkgo biloba leaf is a symbol of endurance.

"Bamboo" Vessel

Using a kick wheel, I made this stoneware vessel to resemble a freshly cut chunk of bamboo.

Smoothie Cup

With this project, I set out to make a vessel for fruit smoothies that resembled a fruit smoothie.

Antique Nail Pendant

This is a square-cut nail that previously helped hold together the family farmhouse. With a little wire, it is now a very special necklace.

Carnelian Agate

I found this exceptional carnelian agate in the Calapooia River near my home. I sliced and polished it, and aim to mount the smaller section on a pendant when time allows.

Glass Float

I tried out glassblowing for a few hours, and the results were encouraging.

Custom Frame

I made this "distressed" frame out of baseboard moulding for a Nick Kuchar map of the Hawaiian Islands.
